David Fry THE WALL OF FLOWERS I chose to exhibit a floral display because I have been photographing flowers for a long time now. It all started when we had a vase of "Sweetpea" on the window ledge and the afternoon sun was backlighting them enabling me to see the fine detail in the petals, so grabbing my camera I shot of about six or seven frames. When the film was processed and I saw the results I was more than delighted. Thus was started my fascination with flowers, and with hindsight, who could not fail to be, the thousands of colours and variations of shape is fantastic and I still stand in awe when ever I see a bloom that I have not seen before. I have tried to show the various blooms not as images on seed packets but to try new angles, and I must admit to getting some funny looks from people seeing me laying flat on the pavement or trying to get a view over a certain bloom all in search of the perfect shot. I have not always been successful, but I am still photographing flowers and still learning, so who knows what the future holds. David Fry
